Red Funnel e-Commerce Site

Info

Red Funnel provide a car and passenger ferry service between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. Their site is based on a custom built CMS using the CakePHP framework. The majority of the site interacts with a 3rd party API to deliver ferry timetables, bookings and detailed customer information.

Role

Lead developer with overall responsibility for site development, maintenance and documentation. This involved working closely with the client to plan new work and with the 3rd party API provider to integrate new features and API updates.

Activision Dashboard

Info

Used by senior members at Activision, the dashboard is a business critical tool which allows them to track a wide range of brand metrics retrieved from data sources such as Google Analytics, HitWise and Facebook. The collected data is fed into a series of digestible and customisable charts for easy sharing and communication across the several business territories.

Role

Working in a team of 10 developers under the guidance of 2 lead developers to realise the clients requirements. The project delivery was Agile / Scrum and new features were released to the client on a fortnightly basis.

Activision 'Pre Sale' Platform

Info

Activision are the world's largest video games publisher. For new releases they offer the incentive of exclusive content for customers who pre order specific titles. The pre sale platform provides a mechanism for game players to retrieve console specific activation codes which can be entered into their console's online store, allowing them access to the exclusive content. Most notably, this platform was used for the launch of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2, the biggest game launch at the time.

Role

Lead developer within a team of 5 developers planning and creating the base platform. Following this I continued as lead developer with responsibility for further developments, 10+ game specific versions. I worked closely with the US based hosting company to ensure smooth deployments.

Mecca Bingo Social Media Dashboard

Info

Mecca is a UK-based bingo and social club leisure company, with sites located across the UK in most major towns and cities. They actively use social platforms like Facebook and Twitter to promote club nights and interact with their customers. The Dashbaord allows them to manage content with these platforms and view statistics from within one central location.

Role

Working within a team of 8 developers I was responsible for the backend development of specific Twitter, TwitPic and Facebook API integrations. I also had responsibility to liaise directly with the client to configure the platform to their needs.
